and it offers a commission rate of 30%, in this case,
  product A has the higher commission, but product
B offers a higher payout, because 50% of $20 is $10, while 30% of $50 is $15.
Therefore the better option would be product B.

Another example could be, product “A” is selling at $50 with
50% commission, and product “B” is selling at $60 with 50% commission.
Obviously, the commission rates are equal, but the payouts are different owing to
their respective sales price. Going by simple calculation, product A would have
a commission payout of $25, while product B would have a commission payout of $30.

The moral of the story is-
 sometimes the increase in sales price affects
the increase in commission payouts, that is why it is necessary to calculate the
